Clerk of the Butte County Board of Supervisors; I ask that this letter be forwarded to all members of the Butte County Board of Supervisors. As a regularly voting resident of Butte County living in Paradise I request that the board not rescind the Emergency Proclamation concerning Covid at this time. The current surge in cases throughout our state and nation would indicate we take a conservative stance to protect our citizens from not only direct exposure to the Covid virus and its variants, but from other ramifications including personal and economic hardships in the future. At the same time, I ask that timely, relevant information regarding pandemic spread and control measures be not only be made available to schools, businesses and the general population, but provided to them regularly. Asking people to wear masks or follow safety mandates that some compare to “Nazi Germany” is a grossly inaccurate analogy. Wearing masks and following safety protocols is to protect everyone from harm. In comparison, it was the self-serving apathy of too many German citizens that allowed Nazis to climb to power and spread not only their philosophical poison but to murder innocent millions. Let’s continue to encourage masking and all safety protocols to potentially save millions of lives. Thank you for taking the time to read my opinion and to seriously consider not rescinding the Emergency Proclamation regarding Covid. Kathleen Presentati Paradise, Ca 95969 (530)
