HomeMy WebLinkAbout21-079WHEREAS, California Health 8' Safety Code Section 13146.4 was added in 2018, and became effective on
September 27,2018; and,
WHEREAS, California Health, &' Safety Code Sections 13146.2and 13146.3requires all fire departments, including
the Butte County Fire Department, that provide fire protection services to perform annual inspections in every building
used as public or private school, hotel, motel, lodging house, apartment house, and certain residential care facilities for
compliance with building standards, asprovided; and
WHEREAS, California Health Q^Safety Code Section 13146.3 requires all fire departments, including the Butte
County Fire Department, that provide fire protection services to report annually to its administering authority on its
compliance with Sections 13l46.2and, 13146.3; and
WHEREAS, the Board ofSupervisors of the County of Butte, intends thiis Resolution to fulfill the requirements of
the California Health & Safety Code regarding acknowledgment of the Butte County Fire Department's compliance with
California Health and Sections 13146.2and 1@l46.3; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby acknowledges the
measure of compliance of the Butte County Fire Department with California Health and Safety Code Sections 1314G.2and
13146.3inthe area encompassed bythe County ofButte, asfollows:
A. EDUCATIONAL GRO,UPEOCCUPANCIES:
Educational Group E occupancies are generally those public and private schools, used by more than six persons at
any one time for educational purposes through the 12th grade. Within the County ofButte, there are 24 Group E
occupancies, buildings, structures and/or facilities.
During FY 2020/2021, the Butte County Fire Department completed the ammma| inspection of 18 Group E
occupancies, buildings, structures and/or facilities. This isacompliance rate of7596for this reporting perind.
Residential Group R occupancies, for the purposes of this resolution, are generally those occupancies containing
sleeping units, and inducle hotels, motels, apartments (three units ormore)etc. as well asother residential occupancies
(including e number of residential care facilities). These residential cane facilities have a number of different sub�'
cUaosificatluos,amdtheyrnaycomtainresidemtsordientothathaveanangeufmeeds,imc[udimgthosere|atedtocus&odI|aV
care, mobility impairments, cognitive disabilities, etc. The residents may also be non-ambulatory or bedridden. Within
the County ofButte, there are 21 Group R(and associated sub -Categories) occupancies ofthis nature.
During FY 2020/71, the Butte County Fire Department completed the ammua| inspection of 10 Group R
occupancies, buildings, structures and/or facilities. This isacompliance rate oflOD98for this reporting period.
