Board Vacancy Notice
The Butte County Board of Supervisors is hereby giving notice of a vacancy on the Northern
Sacramento Valley Integrated Regional Water Management Board(NSVIRWM) Technical Advisory
Committee(TAC) for an At-Large/Landowner Member Seat. The Board of Supervisors may consider
th
making an appointment to fill this vacancy on or after September 28, 2021.
The Northern Sacramento Valley Integrated Regional Water Management (NSV IRWM) Planning
region includes the area covering six counties: Shasta, Tehama, Butte, Glenn, Colusa and Sutter. The
NSV IRWM Board worked with stakeholders throughout the Northern Sacramento Valley region to
develop an Integrated Regional Water Management Plan (IRWMP) pursuant to the California Water
Code §10450-10543. The IRWM is a collaborative effort to enhance coordination of the water
resources in a region. IRWM involves multiple agencies, stakeholders, tribes, individuals and groups to
address water-related issues and offer solutions which can provide multiple benefits to the region. State
grants (including Proposition 84, 50, 1) designate IRWM funds for projects included in an IRWM Plan.
Representatives of the six counties are working in partnership with community stakeholders, tribes and
the public to identify the water-related needs of the region and pursue funding to address them. The
NSV IRWM Technical Advisory Committee is a working group with the purpose to advise the NSV
IRWM Board and act as staff to the Board.
NSVIRWM Board members are excluded from serving on the TAC. The TAC will be a working group
that will advise the Board and act as staff to the Board. The Board will direct the activities of the TAC.
Appointments to the TAC will be reconsidered every two years or as positions are vacated. The initial
two-year period will coincide with the development of an Integrated Regional Water Management Plan
for the NSV, which is anticipated to begin by July 2011. The TAC will meet at least monthly during the
