Radley has accepted a position with DWR out of Red Bluff. His last day with us is October 1. The e-mail string is below. This is a huge hit for us on many levels. Prioritizing tasks at PW will be critical until Josh can find a new right-hand person, as well as a replacement for his Sr. Civil Engineer that just left. He has accepted an offer with the Department of Water Resources out of Red Bluff. While I became initially aware of his interest and intent to leave the County late last week, this comes as a bit of a shock. With our ongoing issues filling both the Assistant and Deputy Director positions, Radley has shouldered considerable burdens in recent years. His loss - combined with the resignation last week of our Senior Civil Engineer responsible for disaster recovery and special projects – will have a direct impact on the services we provide the public. Many of the Board’s particular interests were being managed by both of these individuals, and I don’t know yet how these will be transitioned. Saying I’m concerned is a bit of an understatement at this point. I plan to begin working on options moving forward later this week and will keep you in the loop as things develop.
