Good afternoon, Board of Supervisors,
The 2021 Micro-Enterprise Loan Program is launching this week, funded by a 2020 Community
Development Block Grant secured by the County’s Economic & Community Development Division.
The marketing flyer is attached and will be sent to the County’s economic development partners for
outreach.
The Loan Program is open to qualifying micro-enterprises (5 or fewer employees including the
owner) in Gridley, Biggs, Oroville, and the unincorporated areas. The Program will fund
approximately six businesses up to $20,000 and has an application period from October 1 –
November 19, 2021.
The County will pre-screen businesses for initial eligibility, 3CORE will qualify businesses and
administer the loans, and the SBDC will provide technical assistance to businesses during the
application process if needed. Andy has seated the Loan Committee which is comprised of Mark
Sorensen with the City of Biggs and Cindie Wright from Umpqua Bank; an invitation to the CEO from
the Oroville Chamber is pending.
