COVID-19 Pfizer Booster Dose Now Available in Butte County
For Residents at High Risk
BUTTE COUNTY, CA -- Effective immediately, the CDC has approved a COVID-19 Pfizer booster dose
for certain groups of people, to be administered at least 6 months after their Pfizer primary series
(after the second dose):
(Should get a booster) Persons 65 years and older
(Should get a booster) Residents of long term care settings
(Should get a booster) Persons aged 50-64 years with underlying medical conditions
(May get a booster) Persons aged 18-46 years with underlying medical conditions
(May get a booster) Persons aged 18-64 at increased risk because of occupational or
institutional setting

Butte County Public Health supports these recommendations made by CDPH and the CDC and
encourages residents who are at highest risk for COVID-19 to receive a Pfizer COVID-19 booster shot
to help increase their protection.
Those who qualify may get a Pfizer booster dose in Butte County anywhere the COVID-19 Pfizer
vaccine is currently available, including local pharmacies and community vaccination clinics. No
documentation will be required.

It is recommended to consult with your primary healthcare provider if you have questions about
getting a COVID-19 booster dose.
At this time, booster doses for Moderna and J&J have not been approved by the CDC.
