The most current forecast puts the heavy rain in the Eastern portion of the county Friday morning(See attached Graphic). While North Complex and Camp are a few seasons old, the lack of rain means we could still see significant soil movement. A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for the Berry Creek area. Public Works has had crews out all week checking/clearing drains and will continue patrols and inspections through the weekend. OEM has reached out to City of Chico, City of Oroville, and the Town of Paradise with information regarding 24 hr contact numbers and equipment available to assist should they need help. Sand and sandbags have been delivered to 13 locations throughout the County – OEM is working with PIO to create a news release to let the public know where these can be found. Channel 7 and Channel 12/24 news have asked for interviews/updates on County actions. I am working with Ms. McAfee-Bowersox to provide talking points and an update on County actions. We will provide copies of all information provided for review. And last, OEM has provided an update to Sheriff Honea along with 24 hr contact numbers for OEM and public works through the weekend. Additional updates will be provided as conditions warrant. OEM is standing by to support as needed. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out. Respectfully, Joshua Jimerfield Deputy Administrative Officer Butte County Office of Emergency Management 25 County Center Dr., Suite 213 Oroville, CA 95965 W: 530.552.3333
