Dear Clerk of the Board,
I am writing you to express my concern and opinion on the redistricting of my
community, Forest Ranch, and my neighboring community of Cohasset.
The only option that would benefit these two MOUNTAIN communities is to continue
to have Cohasset and Forest Ranch within the same district.
This has nothing to do with whom represents us, but has everything to do with the
needs of the community. Forest Ranch and Cohasset have nothing in common with
Chico urban areas or with agricultural land in Biggs or Gridley. Our needs are
completely different from the low lying communities and as such I would like to see
Cohasset and Forest Ranch remain within the same district.
Another major concern of mine is if Cohasset is removed and placed in a different
district than Forest Ranch, they loose the representation of the Fire Safe Council.
This is a MAJOR issue and clearly from the history of Butte County, fire safety is
probably number one of the most important items for mountain communities.
Please keep the mountain communities within the same district for the benefit of all.
This is the only option that makes sense.
