All in all, while power was out for some, and many trees are down, it could have been a lot worse. There are a number of items that staff will be monitoring/inspecting today: 1. As of 6:45am this morning – all retention ponds in North Chico had emptied – and Mud Creek and Keefer Slough were running around half capacity. 2. A crack in the road on Oro Quincy Hwy has been discovered – the road is currently closed from County line to Mountain House. a. We are hearing the Oro Quincy will be closed now a the Butte/Plumas County line due to rock slide matters. 3. Lake Madrone was spilling over at times late yesterday, running water over parts of Oro- Quincy Hwy at the West end of Lake Madrone. Some shoulder repair work is needed. a. Bridge engineers are inspecting the Hwy 162 bridge at Lake Madrone 4. Public Works crews will be doing more road inspections throughout the day today. Our office of Emergency Mgmt is coordinating with the State/CalOES…at this point there has not been a State Disaster Declaration. More to come as more information is available.
