Good evening Board,
I know there’s much interest in the public’s participation in the redistricting process, so we have
taken a snapshot in time to quantify the participation. This has been a bit challenging, since
comments come in a variety of ways, including emails, Granicus, and website comments. Staff spent
significant time hand tallying the counts and content. Here are some facts as of 5pm today:
Total comments from the public since this process started in July = 589
Comments submitted up until the 11/9 Board Meeting = 135
Comments submitted since the 11/9 Board Meeting = 453
We combed through the comments and found 14 individuals that commented twice.
Not all comments were to specify preference of maps. Of those that did specify a preference:
355 asked for Map A6,
66 asked for Map 68936, and
20 asked for another map.
A couple of other tidbits:
A total of 54 maps were submitted
A total of 25 Communities of Interest were submitted.

This is where you can read them all.
We’ll update the tally on Monday morning to count the comments that came in over the weekend,
but that’s the last tally we’ll do, as we’ll be busy prepping for BOS meeting.
