BUTTE COUNTY ANNOUNCES SPECIAL BOARD MEETING FOR REDISTRICTING PROCESS
Every ten years, following the federal census, the boundaries of the supervisory districts of the County must be adjusted
so that the districts are similar in population. Redistricting Partners, the consultants hired to manage the 2021
redistricting process in Butte County, have publicly presented at six Board of Supervisors meetings as well as three
community outreach meetings, with the intent of educating and informing the community on the redistricting process, as
well as garnering public input.
Consistent with Board direction, a special Board of Supervisors meeting will take place on Monday, December 6, 2021 at
1:00 PM, at which time the consultant will present three newly drafted district maps:
Map A8
Map A9
Map A10
Additionally, the following maps will be considered at the request received from Board Members:
Consultant map A5 (Map ID: 76161)
Publicly submitted map A5-B (Map ID: 88712);
Publicly submitted map A5-C (Map ID: 88735);
Publicly submitted map Chico N/S, Foothills E/W (Map ID: 86812)
Map A7 (Map ID: 85712)
At the conclusion of the presentation, the Board may direct staff to return at a future meeting to adopt one of the eight
maps on the agenda, or the Board may choose to make amendments to one or more of the eight maps on the agenda to
be brought back at a future meeting, or the Board may take any other action related to redistricting.
Maps submitted for consideration have been made publicly available for three days and can be viewed on the maps page
of the redistricting website.
