Dear Chair Lambert and Supervisors,
Good morning! I would like to apprise you of Cal OES’ notification to the County’s Hazard Tree
Removal operation that CalRecycle will be posting the following solicitation at approximately
12:00pm today. The former RFP included both the assessment and monitoring of the Hazard Trees in
the Camp Fire burn scar area plus the financial management and administration of the overall
program. This time, they have split these two scopes of works into two separate RFP’s. This
notification pertains to the RFP for only the assessment and monitoring.
Statement on assessment and monitoring RFP for Hazard Tree Removal in
Camp Fire
“In coordination with the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES),
CalRecycle is soliciting an assessment and monitoring contract for the Camp
Fire State Hazard Tree Removal Program. The awarded contractor will employ
registered professional foresters and arborists to assess wildfire impacted
trees to determine their potential risk to the public. The awardee will be
responsible for tracking each of the hundreds of thousands of trees identified
by the state-managed program through delivery to their final destination.
Interested parties are directed to solicitation DRR19103 “Tree Removal Field
Management for the Camp Fire” on CalRecycle’s website.”
