This test will detect the presence of the virus to provide testing to begin in our county on May 4 information for the diagnosis of active COVID-19 illness. It will not detect antibodies and does not provide information on immunity to COVID-19. The State of California is working with Butte County Public Health and OptumServe to open a specimen collection site to identify positive cases of COVID-19 in our community. The state has selected Butte County as a location to receive larger testing availability, giving us . Specimens will be sent to Quest reference labs for processing. The site will be located at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds, 2357 Fair St, Chico, CA 95928. It will be fully staffed and set up to accommodate a number of persons with “walk through” testing capability. OptumServe will be able to serve about 11 people per hour with a total of 96-132 per day. nd Specimen collection will be available M-F from 7:00 AM – 7:00PM . Starting May 2 . Phone appointments can be scheduled through the OptumServe online portal: https://lhi.care/covidtesting registration for persons without internet access by calling 888-634-1123. While scheduling appointments through the OptumServe portal, individuals will be prompted to enter their insurance information if applicable. If they are uninsured or underinsured, the State will cover the cost of specimen collection with no cost to the client. A healthcare provider referral is not necessary. Three major groups have been identified within our population who directly interact with people on a daily st basis, and will be able to receive testing as recommended by their employer. (1) All healthcare workers, 1 (2) responders, law enforcement, and employees of agencies who serves those experiencing homelessness. Patient data will be entered into the California Reportable Disease Information Exchange (CalREDIE). Each patient will receive a card at the time their specimen is collected to go to LHI.CARE for test results. Test results will be available within 48-72 hours. If a specimen collected comes back positive, an OptumServe nurse will be reaching out to the individual to provide counselling and education.
