May 18, 2020 To: CSAC Board of Directors County Administrative/Executive Officers County Legislative Coordinators From: Graham Knaus, CSAC Executive Director Darby Kernan, CSAC Deputy Executive Director for Legislative Services CSAC and 10 county affiliate organizations have requested state assistance to support 1991 and 2011 Realignment and the critical county public health, human services, behavioral health, and public safety services administered by counties on the state’s behalf. The attached letter outlines the magnitude of the Realignment shortfall and seeks state or other funding to support the 2018-19 base amounts for all subaccounts within Realignment. We urge all counties grappling with the steep declines in Realignment funding to communicate those impacts to the Governor and your state legislative delegation. Please also share with us, too. Thank you, Graham Knaus CSAC Executive Director Darby Kernan CSAC Deputy Executive Director of Legislative Affairs
