The Board of Supervisors may consider making an appointment to fill this vacancy on or after June 10, 2020. The term of this appointment ends July 31, 2020. The District is an independent special district of the State of California, formed under Health & Safety Code, by approval of the Butte County Board of Supervisors in 1952 to provide a respectful, low-cost place of burial to meet the needs of the diverse, local communities of Magalia, Stirling City, Nimshew, and Coutolenc. The District owns and maintains four active cemeteries and various inactive pioneer and historic cemeteries. The District is managed by five trustees appointed by the Board of Supervisors, who serve four-year terms. Members must be registered to vote within the District boundaries.
