McCracken joined Butte County in 2005 as a Deputy Chief Administrative Officer. McCracken was appointed interim Chief Administrative Officer in November of 2017 after the retirement of former Chief Administrative Officer, Paul Hahn. In April of 2018, Shari become the Countys permanent Chief Administrative Officer. During her tenure, McCracken has managed a variety of countywide projects that significantly enhanced the organization, collaborated with local partners to address regional challenges, and has led the County through numerous disasters, including the Camp Fire and the COVID-ship has been instrumental in building collaborative relationships with our legislative representatives and local jurisdictions while strongly advocating for the County and its residents.
