Yoder and Karen Lange - SYASL COVID-19 Update AT0 COVID-19 Updates www.covid19.ca.gov August 3, 2020 Newsom Administration - Resources / Mutual Aid / Executive Orders Following the announcement from last week re additional resources for the eight Central Valley counties that are disproportionately impacted by COVID-19, Governor Newsom announced today that the State would use the same model previously created when assisting Imperial County to help the Central Valley. In addition to the $52 million in dedicated funding announced last week for the central valley, an additional $6.5 million has been added through philanthropy to ensure essential supplies, food, rent, utilities and more, for vulnerable families, individuals, and the nonprofits who serve them. The Governor also announced that the waiver process for elementary schools will be made public later today.
