The purpose of this temporary emergency measure is to help alleviate the adverse effects of the wildfire-related evacuations and severe outdoor air quality. Particulate matter in the air from wildfire smoke poses respiratory and cardiovascular hazards to citizens. Local jurisdictions in Butte County that choose to allow restaurants to temporarily open indoors must adhere to the following COVID-19 mitigation measures: May only serve at 25% of their maximum capacity All staff must wear a face covering at all times Customers must wear a face covering while moving through the restaurant, until they are seated Additional Resources and Guidance for Dine-In Restaurants: Restaurants should review the COVID-19 Industry Guidance for Dine- In Restaurants and ensure that all mitigation measures are in place: https://files.covid19.ca.gov/pdf/guidance-dine-in-restaurants.pdf Butte County Environmental Health Re-Opening Dine-In Food Safety Checklist: tinyurl.com/DineInChecklist For more information about safely reopening in Butte County during COVID-19, please visit: www.buttecounty.net/ph/ButteReopens Once the air quality has improved, restaurant operations will be required to resume outdoor operations only, per the State guidelines.
