Subject: Weekend storm update
All Concerned –
OEM is closely tracking the incoming storms and potential impacts to the County. I have begun
coordination with PW and checked in with the BCSO as well as the CalOES Inland Region POC.
OEM is also in close contact with PG&E and will provide updates on power outages through the
holidays.
NOAA has released a winter weather briefing which can be found here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLgczY0LZ0w
Highlights: Precipitation is not predicted to exceed thresholds for debris flows/mud slides.
Snow levels early next week could be as low as 1000 feet with some snow falling at
the valley floor.
Significant wind gusts predicted for Friday
PG&E is leaning forward and has pre-positioned resources and crews IOT respond as quickly as
possible to any potential outages in Butte County.
They are holding daily meeting and will provide OEM with updates on outages and restoration times.
OEM has identified minimum personnel over the holidays to staff the EOC if required. I will be
monitoring phone and email and will provide updates as conditions warrant.
If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Respectfully,
Joshua Jimerfield
