Important Monthly Inspection Notes
Firecode Safety Equipment, Inc. has provided the required maintenance on the extinguishers. The state
Health and Safety Code 574.1 also requires a manual monthly inspection of all fire extinguishers. You
can hire us to do this job or do the inspection yourself. Simply date and initial the back of the annual service
tag to record the inspection.
547.2 (B)Manual inspection of extinguishers shall include a check of at least the following items:
(1)Located in the designated place.
(2)No obstruction to access or visibility.
(3)Operating instructions on nameplate legible and facing outward.
(4) Safety seals and tamper indicators are not broken or missing.
(5)Examine for obvious physical damage, corrosion, leakage or clogged nozzle.
(6)Pressure gauge reading or indicator in the operable range or position.
(7)Determine fullness by hefting, and, if needed,by weighing.
(8)For wheeled units,the condition of the tires,wheels, carriage,hose, and nozzle checked.
Also,the extinguisher should be inspected to make sure it is not due for the annual inspection and that it is
not due for Hydrostatic testing.
