Good afternoon Board –
I wanted to provide you all a brief update on the Miocene Canal Stakeholders Meetings. Beginning
shortly after the Camp Fire - PG&E started to have “stakeholder” meetings with regard to the
potential reconstruction of the Miocene Canal and/or water restoration to water users in the area.
This “stakeholder” group has consisted of a broad group of individuals (property owners, elected
officials, county officials, various advocates, etc.). While these meetings continue – I wanted to let
you know that PG&E is taking the lead on scheduling these now - with the next meeting being
scheduled for tomorrow at 3:00pm. In addition – I wanted to just send a friendly reminder of Brown
Act limitations should more than two of you attend one of these meetings. The County will remain
engaged and have staff attend these meetings (however, there is a conflict with tomorrow’s meeting
taking place at the same time as our 2022/23 budget kick off). In addition – we will be providing an
update to the Board in the near future on recent developments impacting the potential acquisition
of the Miocene.
