FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Caltrans Completes North State Corridor Project
Shasta County — Caltrans today announced completion of the Redding to Anderson
Six Lane project, an expansion of the Northbound and Southbound Anderson to
Redding freeway corridor by one lane in each direction. The project also expanded or
replaced ten different bridge structures.
“Caltrans is very excited to finish up one of the biggest infrastructure investments in
Northstate history," said Caltrans District 2 Director Dave Moore. "We were able to
implement long-term solutions for complex transportation problems, upgrade and
maintain this critical stretch of state freeway and enhance safety for the traveling
public."
Planning for the $132 million Redding to Anderson Six Lane project began in 2017. The
project broke ground in January 2019. The final phase of construction also included
paving, concrete median barrier placement, drainage, and fiber optic vault work.
