Date: February 8, 2022 District: District 2 Contact: Kurt Villavicencio, PIO Phone: (530) 225-3426 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Caltrans Completes North State Corridor Project Shasta County — Caltrans today announced completion of the Redding to Anderson Six Lane project, an expansion of the Northbound and Southbound Anderson to Redding freeway corridor by one lane in each direction. The project also expanded or replaced ten different bridge structures. “Caltrans is very excited to finish up one of the biggest infrastructure investments in Northstate history," said Caltrans District 2 Director Dave Moore. "We were able to implement long-term solutions for complex transportation problems, upgrade and maintain this critical stretch of state freeway and enhance safety for the traveling public." Planning for the $132 million Redding to Anderson Six Lane project began in 2017. The project broke ground in January 2019. The final phase of construction also included paving, concrete median barrier placement, drainage, and fiber optic vault work.
