Subject: COVID-19 County employee data
Board Members,
At the last Board meeting, staff was asked for data regarding County employees with
COVID-19. This is a tricky number to get at for the following reasons:
We know there are employees who get COVID-19 but do not report it, and
instead take personal or other leave;
There are many employees who quarantine due to exposure from their
friends/families, but do not test.
That being said, employers are required to report all known employee COVID-19
cases, and for us it is as follows:
750 cases reported in 20 different department (approx. 38%).
44 employees have reported multiple cases.
Also, simply having COVID-19 doesn’t mean an employee is off work. Many
employees who test positive continue to work from home.
