HomeMy WebLinkAbout21-121WHEREAS, the 2018 Camp (Fire destroyed the Department of Public Works yard located at 711 Willow Street/5910 .Almond Street in Paradise, which served the Ridge communities; and WHEREAS, subsequent to the Camp (Fire, the Department of Public Works established a temporary yard location through a lease of 541 Pearson Road; and WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has determined the best course for restoring a permanent location is by purchasing the facility at 541 Pearson Road (APN: 054-040-021-000) as well as the adjacent vacant property at 539 Pearson Road (APN: 054-040-023-0000; a,nd. WHEREAS, the County Camp (Fire property insurance claire has committed to funding the costs to purchase 539 Pearson Road and 541 Pearson Road as replacement of the destroyed yard; and WHEREAS, on August 25, 2020 the Board of Supervisors authorized the Director of General Services to negotiate the acquisition of 539 and 541. Pearson Road, Paradise, California; and. WHEREAS, the specific terms and conditions of the sale of 541 Pearson Road for a purchase price of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000) plus Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000) credit toward Seller attorney fees plus title and escrow fees, is contained in the Purchase Agreement (County contract X24415) between Edward J. Gleason and Fredalee N. Gleason, trustees and as Seller, and the County as Buyer; and WHEREAS, the specific terms and conditions of the sale of 539 Pearson Road fora purchase price of Sixty Thousand Dollars ($60,000) plus title and escrow fees, is contained in the Purchase Agreement (County contract X24383) between the Edward F. Murray Revocable Living Trust as Seller and the County as Buyer. NOW, THEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of .Supervisors hereby finds that it is in the best interest of the citizens of the County to approve the purchase of 539 Pearson Road and 541 Pearson Road in Paradise and authorize the Butte County Department of General Services — Director, on behalf of the County and the Board, to execute any and all documents necessary to effect the purchases and the recordation of any Deeds, including the related Certificates of Acceptance.
