WHEREAS, after 20 years of dedicated public service, Correctional Deputy Charles Brown will be retiring on
September 17, 2021. During his career, his service to the Butte County Sheriff's Office has been exemplary; and
WHEREAS, Correctional Deputy Brown began his law enforcement career in 2001 when hired by the Butte County
Sheriff's Office after working as a dispatcher for Chico Police Department; and
WHEREAS, Correctional Deputy Brown spent the majority of his career working in the Butte County Jail on various
teams and also worked in special assignment providing transport for transfer of inmates, including specialized transport
of federal inmates; and
WHEREAS, Correctional Deputy Brown assisted with the evacuation of the Butte County Jail and transport of
inmates during the 2017 Orovi[le Dam Spillway incident; and
WHEREAS, Coinrectional Deputy Brown assisted in the response to the Camp Fire and numerous other fires, during
which he went door-to-door to help evacuate residents; and
WHEREAS, for the reasons stated above and for many more, Charles Brown embodies the characteristics of a
dedicated Correctional Deputy and great citizen of Butte County; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IIT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby expresses its deep
appreciation for the exemplary service and unselfish dedication of Charles Brown during his career with Butte County
Sheriff's Office.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 10' day of September, 2021, by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Lucero, Ritter, Kimmelshue, Teeter, and Chair Connelly
