HomeMy WebLinkAbout21-180RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING BUTTE COUNTY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE PUBLIC DEFENSE PILOT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Butte County desires to participate in the Public Defense Pilot Program funded through the State
Budget Act of 2021 (Senate Bill 129) and administered by the Board of State and Community Corrections (hereafter
referred to as the BSCC); and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Public Defender Consortium developed Project Upstream to utilize the Public
Defense Pilot Program funding to provide representation to those individuals meeting the criteria for consideration.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chief Administrative Officer or Deputy Chief Administrative Officer
be authorized on behalf of the Butte County Board of Supervisors to submit the grant proposal for this funding and sign
the Grant Agreement with the BSCC, including any amendments thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to supplant expenditures
controlled by this body.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Butte County agrees to abide by the terms and conditions of the Grant Agreement
as set forth by the BSCC.
