WHEREAS, funding from the Boating Safety and Enforcement Financial Aid Program helps support the
provision of necessary law enforcement services on the waterways of Butte County; and
WHEREAS, Harbors and Navigation Code Section 663.7(e) and California Code of Regulations Section 6593.4
together require that certain assurances be provided as a condition of receiving such financial aid; and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Sheriff, or his designee, is hereby authorized and directed on behalf of the
County of Butte, a poli'ticai subdivision of the State of California, to suibmit an application to the California
Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways for the Boating Safety and Enforcement
Financial Aid Program for Fiscal l year 2022-23 for funding in the amount of $159,342, and to have signature authority
on the application and other program application related documents, and to do and perform everything necessary
for the purpose of the Resollution; and
NO`li'V, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County is authorized to participate in the Fiscal year 2022-
2023 Boating Safety and Enforcement Financials Aid Program, that the County shall expend for boating safety
programs during the year not less than an amount equal to 10:0% of the amount received by the County from
personal property taxes on vessels, and that the County Auditor is authorized to certify the amount of prior year
vessel taxes received by the County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 14th day of December, 2021, by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Lucero, Ritter, Kimmelshue, Teeter and Chair Connelly
