RESOLUTION YNRECOGNITION OFSUSAN PETERSON, UPON RETIREMENT AS ASSISTANT TREASURER —TAX
COLLECTOR, BUTTE COUNTY
WHEREAS, Susan Peterson, Assistant Treasurer —Tax Collector, announced her retirement effective December 30,
2021; and
WHEREAS, Susan has been with the County for 22 years and is an integral part of the management team for the
Treasurer—TaxCoNector'sOffice;and
WHEREAS, Susan has shown great teamwork in vvndting with other Departments and has been a long time tax
expert for the County; and
WHEREAS, Susan is a strong leader and has an enviable depth of knowledge of the inner workings of Property Tax
and Central Collections divisions; and
WHEREAS, Susan has, worked closely with Development Services over the years to coordinate cmllections for code
enforcennentvin|atioms; and
WHEREAS, Susan has been an instrumental leader during emergency activations and has functioned as the Plans
Chief inthe Emergency Operations Center; and
WHEREAS, Susan demonstrated her leadership abilities, and knowledge during the Camp fire while assisting tax
payers with complex questions and needs; and
WHEREAS, Susan worked with Adult Protective Services to establish a new policy and public outreach program to
protect the interest ofSenior and Disabled tax payers with defaulted taxes; and
WHEREAS, Under Susan's leadership, Central Collections revenues have increased from $1.8 million in fiscal year
Z00�G-O7tm$3.4million; and
WHEREAS, Susan was instrumental in increasing tax revenue collections related to short term rentals; and
WHEREAS, Susan's enthusiastic aind fun personality will begreatly missed bvher staff and coworkers hallom/eem
costume contests will not be, the same without her and Chana;and
NOW, THEREFORE, BElTRESOLVED that the Butte County Board ofSupervisors, onits own behalf, and mnbehalf
of the residents of the County of Butte wishes to express to Susan Peterson sincere appreciation for her dedication and
outstanding service rendered to the residents of the County of Butte, and further wishes her warmest regards upon her
retirement as she charters this exciting new course with her business and family.

vote:
