Subject: Public Comment | Mandate BCPH Provide Covid Updates During Emergency Order
Dear Clerk of the Butte County BOS -
Please forward my public comment submission to each member of the Board of Supervisors
and Butte County Public Health, for todays upcoming BOS meeting. Please also place a copy
of this letter into the the public record.
Dear Butte County BOS -
Until all emergency orders and school mandates are lifted the COVID Update
must be part of BOS meetings.
Additionally, it would really mean a lot to be able to see the actual Butte County
Public Health Dept Covid data for our region. Seriously, why so much secrecy and
foot-dragging about this?
BCPH needs to release requested Covid data. Period. Month after month the public is
requesting the data. So bring it on. One would assume that the vast amounts of
money poured into the public healthcare system locally during the "Pandemic" should
be more than adequate to provide resources and additional staff to get this done.
BCPH needs to stop stonewalling and post the Covid data the public has asked for...
for over 2 years. BOS needs to step-up and demand action on this.
Re Covid Deaths:
Q. Can the BOS instruct BCPH to update the dashboard with clear information.
Instruct BCPH to always include the ages Covid (and all pandemic) related deaths,
and to be sure to omit traffic fatalities and drug over-doses et al, and to always
specify whether deaths are "with Covid" or "from Covid"? Further, BCPH needs to be
REQUIRED to categorize and specify whether counted Covid cases are symptomatic
(infectious) or asymptomatic (non-infectious) insignificant positives. Without more
specificity and clarity of the data, the BCPH press releases are misleading the public.
Better yet, ask BCPH to limit cases reported to ONLY those that are truly infectious
(symptomatic cases).
Transparency makes a world of difference.
Side-note: Recently, I visited my very mainstream "follow-the-science" physician.
They told me verbatim, "the entire CDC leadership is corrupt and needs to be fired
over Covid". Wow. What an interesting opinion of the US public health system from
an ordinary MD who like many, used to consider the CDC a trusted source of
information. No more. Listen and Learn.
