Hello I am a resident in the Feather Falls area and have been for 50 years. My husband’s family has been here for at least 6,000 years, perhaps as long as 10,000 years. We ask little from the government. I have contacted my Supervisor and the Public Works Department seeking information about Lumpkin Rd post fire recovery. I have not received an answer from my Supervisor and I was unable to reach Public Works via telephone; I was constantly disconnected by the automated answering service. Also I am not able to add this comment to the Public Works Connect online. (I think because it is not one of the standard issues). My question to you concerns Lumpkin Road: When will the hazard trees (burned in the North Complex Fire) be removed? I reviewed the Public Works CIP Staff Report and note that the Lumpkin Road Disaster Recovery repairs are not funded and are projected at a whopping $16,491,000! (CIF Report:46) What I want immediately is that the hazard trees are removed adjacent to the Road so that during high wind events the residents know the road is safe. What do we need to do to get this part of the Lumpkin Road post North Complex repair completed? Please let our community know. Also if some of the SB1 (discretionary) funds are available, the significant potholes made by the 14 months of heavy logging traffic would be greatly appreciated. (WE note that Forbestown Road appears to be the only road that is scheduled for some kind of repair from the North Complex. (CIF Report:34). The North Complex Fire did not directly affect that road and there are no major potholes along that road. Your report reviews the funding challenges. We sympathize yet we would like to know we can get home should there be a wind event. Thank You. Leslie Steidl
