Board Members,
We were expecting to terminate our COVID Emergency Proclamation today, in conjunction with the
State’s termination. But in a flurry of last minute activity, the State extended their COVID Emergency
Declaration through June 2022. It was not a wholesale extension, however. The State Emergency
Proclamations were defined through a series of 37 Executive Orders, and the State ended 21 of
those orders as expected, and extended 16 of them through June 30. These extended orders were
specifically regarding:
Rental eviction protection, foreclosure moratorium, and related programs;
HIPPA violations for telehealth services;
IHSS videoconferencing; and
Waiving of certain licensing requirements for SNFs, hospice, and other clinics.
The direction I have from the Board is to end our local proclamation when the State ends theirs.
Unless I receive different direction from the Board, we are on track to terminate our local
proclamation on June 30.
