Honorable Board Members – During the week of February 21 2022, Butte County experienced
freezing temperatures, which resulted in damage to our Almond and Prune crops. Almond growers
reported a 40%-60% crop loss; Prune growers reported approximately a 30% crop loss.
I am requesting a disaster declaration designation for Butte County from CalOES. If approved by
CalOES, they will forward request to the United States Department of Agriculture for approval.
Attached is the request letter and the California County Agricultural Commissioner Disaster Report.
