At the last BOS meeting additional information was requested regarding liens and special
assessments that have been applied through the Code Enforcement program. The below
information is broken out by the Cannabis program and the regular Nuisance Abatement program.
2016-2020 Cannabis Liens
89 Liens recorded for penalties in the amount of $4,122,875 with additional $458,745 applied as
Special Assessment.
17 Liens have been paid in the amount of $588,726 with $127,523 additional Special Assessment
payment.
Total Cannabis Liens / Special Assessment paid $716,249
2016-2020 Regular Nuisance Abatement Liens/Special Assessments
19 Liens recorded for $369,437
5 Liens paid in the amount of $89,316
The majority of liens that have been paid were placed for cases in 2016 & 2017. Liens have been
paid mainly out of escrow. The special assessments have been paid through property tax payments.
We had one regular nuisance abatement case for cost recovery paid through a property tax auction.
