Join Us on May 24th at 11am PST/2pm EST This interactive session will capture an amazing worldwide collaborative called Youth TimeBanking Global (YTB-Global). YTB-Global is youth-adult program of service activities where youth can earn ‘time credits’ in support of their unique interests and development. Panelists will discuss Community CALM- which are activities that include building strengths, social connections, and solidarity across our world. CALM stands for Care (Service) - Apps (Digital) - Learn (Literacy) - Make (Physical) for Community. YTB Global has led the charge empowering individuals to support sustainable community connections where Youth ARE seen as Assets + Resources + Energy! This unique webinar will also discuss how YTB-Global can drive co-production within every community, state and country. Panelists will introduce YTB- Global projects & activities occurring in parts of the U.S., Uganda, and Jamaica. Then introduce new developing projects in Yaoundé Cameroon and Ulaanbaatar Mongolia. The ‘take-aways’ are to show how youth can collaborated on projects and partner with other countries, which include New Zealand, England, and China. Opeeka’s mission is to achieve wellbeing for all. Kenneth McGill spent the last 12 years at Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care serving as the statewide trainer on Wraparound, the fundamental evidence-based practice offered throughout the New Jersey Children’s System of Care (CSOC), and the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) curriculum. Ken was the 2013 recipient of the Praed Foundation’s Outcomes Champion (CANS) Award for his work in children’s systems of care and outcomes management. He has more than 20 years of experience in marriage and family therapy, education and research and is currently serving as President of the New Jersey Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (NJAMFT). Ken received his Education Specialist degree in marriage and family therapy from and his Master’s in Education from Seton Hall University. YITDEV is a Community-Youth driven, Volunteer-run, independent, NGO that delivers inclusive, innovative, sustainable programs and services to support the use of sustainable Technologies in Agriculture, Health, Education for the wellbeing of Uganda’s communities. YITEDEV develops applications geared towards Agricultural, Health & community sustainability. Robert is also Chapter Organizer-TechSoup Connect Uganda; Executive Chairman-Mukono District NGO Network; NetSquared Regional Ambassador for East Africa; Director/Co-Founder Communications Without Borders Ltd; Founder/Executive Director Kikandwa Rural Communities Development Organisation (KIRUCODO); World Campus International Regional Manager. Stephen Kalyesubula Strategic Information Systems Officer at University Research Co., LLC (URC) & Center for Human Services (CHS) Stephen Kalyesubula is a Ugandan citizen and a certified computer engineer from Makerere University. He is currently a graduate researcher at iLabs@Mak project - Makerere University with 4 years’ experience in Data science, Robotics, Internet of things, AI and Design thinking. He is a founder of Labtech a techie company focusing on developing feasible technologies to address the sustainable development goals. He is also the founder for Youths in Technology and Development a non-profit organization meant to create tech communities of practice where appropriate use of technology leads to sustainable development. He is currently working as ICT officer at USAID-ASSIST project – Uganda. Stephen has contributed massively in promoting Agriculture 4.0 through his research papers and presentations with GODAN, CTA and GFAR. He is currently the GODAN-Champion for 2018 and his focus is on supporting the proactive sharing of open data in agriculture and nutrition. He has won various awards like: Innovation Expo organized by the Uganda Registration Service Bureau 2017, Online Imagine cup by Microsoft 2017 to mention but a few. He believes Youths understand their issues best; they have the agency, capacity and commitment to develop appropriate solutions for themselves and their communities. Paul Kasoma Communications Executive at Youths in Technology and Development Uganda Mr Kasoma is an agro-Technologist, Data scientist, Information systems developer with a bachelor’s degree in information Technology, Certificate in Open data. Paul works as a senior information and communications manager as well as projects coordinator at Youths in Technology and Development Uganda whose main mission lies in Digitizing Agriculture, ICT4 Rural Development, Open Data in Agriculture and Nutrition, Youth Empowerment and Community development. He is one of the GODAN Champions 2018, HIFA Country representative as well as a core participant in the RD Africa project. Paul has worked on several projects in Agriculture and health sector with groups that have inspired and helped to build his carrier. Paul has spoken and attended several open data workshops both in Uganda and internationally. His interests include Data science, Artificial intelligence, and Internet of things. Paul is also a Director for Youths in Technology and Development Uganda. His main responsibilities include Promoting Agri-technology, Open data Team leader, Software Developer and managing internal and external communications. Elise Edjang Registered Nurse, Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) and Sibley Memorial Hospital Elise’s incredible nursing career spans almost two- decades. She has actively served as a leader within Hospital settings including specialties: medical/surgical, orthopedic, and oncology and rehabilitation. Elise has worked in urgent care settings for almost 7 years. She is a school nurse with the Prince George’s County Public School and a nurse at Sibley Memorial Hospital, holding a Nursing License in both Washington DC and Maryland. Her strong faith has both guided her and kept her grounded as a servant leader. In addition to her accomplishments in the medical field, Elise holds a graduate degree in biblical studies as part of her seminary studies. Jerome Scriptunas Founder-Head YTB Global Jerome Scriptunas leads a community nonprofit called Youth TimeBanking (YTB, YTBRN.org) and a TechSoup Connect chapter for Timebanking and Community organizations. His educational background includes graduate degrees in industrial & operations engineering and social work, MSW Global Community Practice. Over his career he has worked in private industry, with state government, within a system of care, as a freelance business consultant, and now he runs a small nonprofit organization. YTB is a virtual, all volunteer 501(c) (3) nonprofit. YTB provides community-building opportunities to youth and uses time, service, resources, and opportunity as currency in exchange. YTB is Community C.A.L.M. - Care, Apps, Learn, Make for Community. Care -- serving others, the environment, animals. Apps -- helping others via technology. Learn -- literacy & community knowledge. Make -- making things for our community.
