I would be happy to follow up directly with the resident below. The intersection in question is a Caltrans-maintained facility (Oro Dam – State Route 162) within the city limits. It’s my understanding that there are ongoing issues between the city, State, and the Maverik site that have impacted the ability to complete the improvements. Please exercise judgment before opening attachments, clicking on links, or replying.. Dear Clerk, pease provide a copy to all BOS members ASAP. I am writing to ask the BOS to address the main intersection at Oro Dam Blvd and Feather River Blvd, With the City of Oroville letting a huge Mavericks gas station build at this intersection..it has created traffic conditions. As you approach Oro Dam Blvd from Feather River Blvd coming from Montgomery St you may very well encounter a bicyclist riding in the gravel shoulder, , a car making a left turn across Feather into the truck stop, stopped traffic, a Big Rig pulling out onto Feather River Blvd, a car turning into the other gas station or into the Starbucks side entrance, a motorcycle merging, and if there is a pedestrian they are at risk as there is no cross walk on the unimproved gravel corner. I question how this roadway/ very busy intersection can be left so neglected..while the shiny new truck stop is all paved? Why are the roads that the local community uses being left unimproved? Where are the improvements, the sidewalks, the cross walks, the Marked turn lanes, the correct traffic signage, the pedestrian safety features, the disabled access? I find this intersection corner an embarrassment to the good people of Butte County. Why is the community road safety being overlooked? If this is a example of the City of Oroville road maintenance and development, I question their ability to take on more areas as they have their sights to expand into Thermalito. When will this main road/corner be addressed , repaired and improved? Can the BOS find out please? K Brazil Sent from my iPad
