Date: May 25, 2022 District: District 2 Contact: Kurt Villavicencio, PIO Phone: (530) 225-3426 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Caltrans To Begin Champlin Slough Project in Tehama County Tehama County — Caltrans will begin the Champlin Slough Bridge Replacement project starting on May 31st, which will completely replace the existing bridge structure located just south of Los Molinos on State Route (SR) 99 in Tehama County. The project also includes new guard railing, and the addition of numerous safety features. Preliminary work will begin on May 31st, with 24-hour one-way traffic control. SR 99 will be fully closed to through traffic on the evening of June 1st for seven weeks. Please see the attached detour map to plan your commute/trips accordingly. The $7.5 million project includes 90 working days, with 45 calendar days requiring the SR-99 closure. Motorists can expect to travel this portion of SR-99 by mid-July 2022, and the entire project is expected to be completed by mid-August 2022.
