Good Afternoon,
I wanted to send to you and the Board of Supervisors an appreciation for your Department of
Economic and Social Services. My department had the unfortunate event of a cyber-attack which
caused us to lose all connectivity to the many state projects and programs we use to serve
customers. Without hesitation, Butte County generously provided us with laptops that made a
significant difference in our abilities to stay functional while we sorted through the incident.
My team of staff are so appreciative of this act of service and kindness, and want to appreciate the
leadership of Shelby Boston for having a team so quick and eager to support us.
I know the entire Tehama County Social Services staff would like the Butte County Supervisors to
know what excellent partners we have in DESS.
