Date: June 28, 2022 District: District 2 Contact: Kurt Villavicencio, PIO Phone: (530) 225-3426 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Caltrans To Begin Antelope Drapery Project in Lassen County Lassen County — Caltrans will begin the Antelope Drapery Rock Fence project on July 11th, which will install a cable mesh drapery system approximately five miles north of the intersection of State Route (SR) 36 and SR 139 located near Susanville in Lassen County. The project also includes scaling loose rock from slopes before placing the drapery system. Motorists can expect 30 minute daytime delays as rock scaling begins in July, for approximately three weeks. After scaling work concludes, motorists can expect delays of 5 minutes during daytime hours through the lane closure. Lane width will be significantly reduced during construction of this project, and cyclists should use caution while riding along this route. The $1.5 million project includes 60 working days, with all requiring traffic control. The entire project is expected to be completed by October 2022.
