FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Caltrans To Begin Antelope Drapery Project in Lassen County
Lassen County — Caltrans will begin the Antelope Drapery Rock Fence project on July
11th, which will install a cable mesh drapery system approximately five miles north of
the intersection of State Route (SR) 36 and SR 139 located near Susanville in Lassen
County. The project also includes scaling loose rock from slopes before placing the
drapery system.
Motorists can expect 30 minute daytime delays as rock scaling begins in July, for
approximately three weeks. After scaling work concludes, motorists can expect delays
of 5 minutes during daytime hours through the lane closure. Lane width will be
significantly reduced during construction of this project, and cyclists should use
caution while riding along this route.
The $1.5 million project includes 60 working days, with all requiring traffic control. The
entire project is expected to be completed by October 2022.
