FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Shoulder Project Upcoming
On Southbound State Route 273 in Shasta County
REDDING – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans District 2) and
Tullis, Inc. are preparing to begin work on the Clear Olney Pavement Project on
State Route 273 in Shasta County. The $1.8 million project will construct an eight-
foot paved shoulder on southbound SR 273 in South Redding, between Clear
Creek Road and Olney Creek Bridge.
Construction activities are currently planned to start on Sunday, July
th
10. Motorists will encounter southbound lane closures in the area, Sunday
nights – Friday mornings during overnight hours. Minimal delays may be
experienced during periods of higher traffic volumes. Motorists are urged to slow
down and drive carefully in and around construction areas, follow speed limit
reductions in place, and allot extra time for delays. The project is currently
anticipated to be completed by mid-August.
Construction projects are subject to changes without prior notice. Caltrans and its
contractors do our best to keep the public informed. To stay up to date on highway
