Date: July 6, 2022 District: 2 - Redding Contact: Chris Woodward Phone: (530) 225-3426 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Shoulder Project Upcoming On Southbound State Route 273 in Shasta County REDDING – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans District 2) and Tullis, Inc. are preparing to begin work on the Clear Olney Pavement Project on State Route 273 in Shasta County. The $1.8 million project will construct an eight- foot paved shoulder on southbound SR 273 in South Redding, between Clear Creek Road and Olney Creek Bridge. Construction activities are currently planned to start on Sunday, July th 10. Motorists will encounter southbound lane closures in the area, Sunday nights – Friday mornings during overnight hours. Minimal delays may be experienced during periods of higher traffic volumes. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive carefully in and around construction areas, follow speed limit reductions in place, and allot extra time for delays. The project is currently anticipated to be completed by mid-August. Construction projects are subject to changes without prior notice.
