HomeMy WebLinkAbout22-086/\RESOLUTION OFTHE BOARD QPSUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTECALFORNA ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF AREPORT MADE BY THE FIRE CHIEF OF THE BUTTE COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT REGARDING THE ANNUAL INSPECTION OFCERTAIN OCCUPANCIES PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 13146.2 AND 13146.3[JFTHE CALIFORNIA HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE WHEREAS, California Health & Safety Code Section 13146.4 was added in 2018, and became effective on September 27,2O18;and WHEREAS, California Health & Safety Code Sections 13146.2 and 13146.3 requires all fire departments,including the Butte County Fire Department, that provide fire protection services to perform annual inspections inevery building used as a public or private school, hotel, motel, lodging house, apartment house, and certain residential care facilities for compliance with building standards, asprovided; and WHEREAS, California Health & Safety Code Section I31462 requires all fire departments, including the Butte County Fire Department, that provide fire protection services to report annually to, its administering authority om its compliance with Sections 13l4G.2and 1314G.];and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors ofthe County of Butte intends this Resolution to fulfill the requirements of the California Health & Safety Code regarding acknowledgment of the Butte County Fire Department's compliance with California Health andSections 13146.2and 13146.3; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hena6m acknowledges the measure of compliance of the Butte County Fire Department with California Health and Safety Code Sections 13146.2 and 13146.3inthe area encompassed bythe County ofButte, asfollows: A. EDUCATlONAL GROUP E OCCUPANCIES: Educational Group 2occupancies are generally those public and privateschon|s,usedbvmunethansix persons at any one time for educational purposes through the 12mgrade, Within the County ofButte, there are 27Group E occupancies, buildings, structures and/or facilities, During FY 2021/2022, the Butte County Fire Department completed the annual inspection of 22 Group occupancies, buildings, structures and/or facilities. This is a compliance rate of 81% for this reporting period. Residential Group Roccupancies, forthepurposesmfthbreso|ution,ana8enera|k/thoseoccupanciescomteininQ sleeping units and include hotels, motels, apartments (three units or more), etc, as well as n16cr residential occupancies (including a number ofresidential care facNities). These residential care facilities have a number of different sub -classifications, and they may contain residents or �l:ients that have arange mfneeds, including those related to custodial care, mobility impairments, cognitive disabilities, etc. The residents may also be non- ambulatory or bedridden. Within the County of Butte, there are 19 Group R (and associated sub -categories) occupancies nfthis nature. vote During FY 2020/2021, the Butte County Fire Department completed the annual inspection of 18 Group R occupancies, buildings, structures and/or facilities. This is a compliance rate of 94% for this reporting period.
