See the update below on the CHAT project….they are very close to having a permit but ran into a
supply shortage issue that we are working through with their electrical contractor.

Leslie,
I wanted to give you an update on this project. City of Chico approved their review. Currently I am
working with Gary Lee and Mike Shields on one last electrical item I need before we can approve the
Building Review. We need the specification sheet and a foundation plans along with anchorage detail
for the 1600-amp main service panel switchgear.
In talking to Gary today, he indicated the manufacturer told him this switchgear will take 300
working days to get delivered. Gary asked if he can redesign the electrical to have 2-800amp main
service panels instead. I told him we would be ok on having two main service panel as oppose to just
one, but he needs to provide us updated electrical plans showing this change and to talk to PG&E to
see if they have additional requirements for this new design.
I told Gary, to not hold up the approval on this project, he can provide me the needed details for the
1600-amp panel, I can then potentially approve the review and get the permit issued. You can then
submit a plan change if you do decide to change the electrical plans afterwards.

As a follow-up to my telephone conversation yesterday regarding a potential delay of “Building
Permits” issuance due to unresolved City tree issues, I can report that any and all issues have been
resolved. At this point, the City will/would support issuance of the “Building Permits” and that the
City will work directly with the project group to satisfy all City tree requirements. The City looks
forward to initiation and completion of this project. Thanks for your assistance with this matter.

Gentlemen,
We are reviewing the latest plan submittal for the CHAT Everhart Village project and believe we are
close to issuance. Can you confirm if they have satisfied all City requirements for issuance of their
permit? I have attached the latest set of Civil drawings provided to us this week for your reference.
We have also received a copy of their City of Chico Erosion and Sediment Control Plan for small
construction projects.
We do have a question related to the inspection of their onsite sewer and what portion of the
system the City will be inspecting:
The entire gravity and pressurized system from the buildings to the cleanout and tie-in to the
existing main? or
Just the pressurized side of the system from the pump to the existing main? Or
Just the cleanout and tie-in to the existing main?
I have included Efrain who is our Building Official now as he will be your main point of contact with
the County for any concerns or coordination related to this project.
