While not all committees require action from the Board, the Board by a majority vote may amend any standing committee assignments, and/or disband any committees that are no longer necessary. Action Requested: 1) Appoint one member of the Board of Supervisors to a one-year term as the Regular Member on the Rural County Representatives of California with a term ending December 2022. 2) Appoint one member of the Board of Supervisors t o a one-year term as the Alternate Member on the RCRC Board of Directors with a term ending December 2022. Sierra Nevada Conservancy Board Current Assignments: Regular Member: Supervisor Teeter; Term: December 2021 Alternate Member: Supervisor Connelly; Term: December 2021 The Board is designed to provide leadership from both locally elected and state -appointed representatives to promote the well-being of the Sierra Nevada Region, its environment, and its residents. The Board is comprised of 16 members: 13 voting and 3 non-voting members. Butte County is identified as the north central sierra subregion, and together with Plumas, Sierra, and Tehama counties appoints one member to the conservancy board. At the January 2020 Board Meeting, the Board of Supervisors appointed Supervisor Teeter as its Regular Member, with a term ending December 2021; and Supervisor Connelly as its Alternate Member, with a term ending December 2021. Interagency Children’s Services Coordinating Council (CSCC) Current Assignments: Supervisor Ritter; Term: No term Specified The Interagency Children’s Services Coordinating Council’s duties include ensuring the collaboration and countywide planning for the provision of children’s services. Established at the will of the County under State Chapter 12.8 Interagency Children’s Services Act, the Council was formed in 1991. At the Se ptember 2021 meeting, the CSCC Executive Committee determined that it is an appropriate time to disband this committee. The CSCC has had dwindling membership/participation and has been meeting just to meet for years. Staff research found that this Council is not a requirement of the State and that its disbandment would have no impact on funding. Action Requested: Disband the Interagency Children’s Services Coordinating Council. Staff Recommendations 1. Make appointments to committees that require action; and 2. Amend any standing Board Member committee assignments, if desired; and 3. Disband any committee that is no longer necessary, if applicable.
