FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Fish Passage Project Underway
on State Route 36 at Harrison Gulch Bridge
REDDING – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans District 2) and
M R Construction have begun work on the Harrison Gulch Fish Passage Project
on State Route 36 in Shasta County. The $464k project will construct a fish
passage at the Harrison Gulch Bridge on SR 36 near Platina. Scope of work
includes placement of boulder weir, paving culvert invert, and placement of rock
slope protection.
Construction activities began earlier this week. Most of the work on the project will
not require traffic control, however motorists may experience up to 5-minute
delays, Mondays – Fridays when one-way traffic control is needed. Motorists are
urged to slow down and drive carefully in and around construction areas, follow
speed limit reductions in place, and allot extra time for delays. The project is
currently anticipated to be completed by early October.
Construction projects are subject to changes without prior notice. Caltrans and its
contractors do our best to keep the public informed. To stay up to date on highway
