As reported during the 7/26/2022 Board of Supervisors meeting, Butte County Public Health has
been allocated a total of 20 doses of Jynneos vaccine to be used for Monkepox Pre-Exposure
Prophylaxis (PREP) and/or Post-exposure Prophylaxis (PEP).
Current update: Of the 20 doses received: 1 has been given to a close contact of a positive case; 1
has been provided to a neighboring county who had no doses allocated and we have 18 doses
remaining. We may get more doses allocated in the coming days/weeks but do not have any exact
numbers yet.
Butte County public health has no ACAM2000

what are these? Serving as the “hub” means that BCPH staff coordinates between the State
and local healthcare providers for various therapeutics allocated for Butte County, to make
sure the therapeutics to be used by the healthcare provider gets delivered to them. The
current list of those therapeutics are as follows:
· Bebtelovimab – Monoclonal antibodies
· Paxlovid (regular) - Antiviral
· Paxlovid (renal dosing) - Antiviral
· Molnupiravir - Antiviral
· Evusheld – Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (for immunocompromised
patients)
Note: some retail pharmacies do receive antivirals directly that local public health has no
information on or oversight over.
