The Department of Development Services will be maintaining a fair booth
starting today at the Butte County Fair in Gridley from August 25th through
August 29th devoted to the Butte County General Plan 2040 update. We plan
to have activities for everyone (adults and children) to help them learn and
become more familiar with the General Plan 2040 process. In anticipation of
this event, we are very excited to announce that the Public Draft General Plan
2040 will be released on the following webpage:
General Plan Update (buttecounty.net)
Watch for future opportunities for engagement in the form of Public Open
House Workshops in Chico and Oroville in September (time and place will be
announced and made available on the website). Public outreach will take place
with media, direct email blasts, stakeholders, and interested individuals and
groups during this time.
The Draft General Plan 2040 will be available for public review through the end
of 2022. The public are asked to direct questions about General Plan 2040 to
Senior Planner Mark Michelena by email at: mmichelena@buttecounty.net, or

This process will culminate with future public hearings at the Planning
Commission and Board of Supervisors in early 2023.
