RE: Bucks Creek Hydroelectric Project, FERC No. 619-CA
Grizzly Tap Removal and Reconnection Project Update
Dear Frank L. Blackett:
This letter is to inform you of a construction delay for the Grizzly Tap removal and
reconnection construction project. On April 22, 2021, the Federal Energy Regulatory
Commission issued an Order Amending the Bucks Creek Hydroelectric Project, FERC No.
619 License to Change Transmission Line Route and Revising Project
Description. Following the Order, on April 29, 2021,
authorized PG&E to proceed with the proposed project modifications.
PG&E is behind its originally targeted schedule for completing the full scope of the Grizzly
Reconnection repair work. Delays to repairs were caused by the Dixie Fire, and landslides
in late October and mid-December on Highway 70 that restricted access to the Bucks
Creek Powerhouse. Therefore, construction has not yet started on any portion of the
reconnection work. The construction completion and re-energization date has been
extended to the end of July 2023.
If you have any questions regarding this application, please contact PG&E's senior license
coordinator, Jamie Visinoni, at JNVS@pge.com.
Sincerely,
Elisabeth Rossi
Supervisor, Hydro License Compliance
