FOR AVIAN INFLUENZA
WHEREAS, Section 101080 of the California Health and Safety Code authorizes the Local Health Officer
for the County of Butte to declare a local health emergency when there is an imminent and proximate threat of
the intnodwct[onofany contagious, infectious, orcommunicable disease inthe jurisdiction; and

WHEREAS, onAugust 17^ 2822 Avian Influenza was detected in aflock ofbirds located in Butte County;
WHEREAS, Avian Influenza is a zoonotic disease that can be transmitted from birds to humans; aind
WHEREAS, there is an imminent and proximate threat of communicable disease due to a large number
of potentially infectious animal carcasses; and
WHEREAS, the County's Local Health Officer issued a Declaration ofLocal Health Emergency on August
17,2022.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Local Health Officer's Declaration of Local Health Emergency
in Butte Counityasanesu|tofthehmtnoductionmf#vinn|nflummzannadeomAmgwst17,2022isherebvmtifiedand
confirmed bVthe Board ofSupervisors ofthe County ofButte.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 23r" day of August, 2022, by the
following vote:
