Good news! We can do the meeting at 10:45 and have a quorum of Supvs. Ritter, Kimmelshue, and
Connelly. If Supvs Lucero and Teeter can also make the time it would be great, but not required to
take the necessary actions.
So we’ll send out the agenda tomorrow for a Special Meeting on Monday September 12 at 10:45
am.

Board Members,
In our previous two closed sessions Sheri Waters discussed the potential affiliation of three units
(Non-Represented, Confidential, and Board Executive Assistants) with Teamsters to access their
health benefits. All three units have voted to affiliate, so now we need to bring this action to the
Board. The new coverage will begin on January 2023.
Unfortunately, the deadline to exit CALPERS is Monday, September 12, so we’ll need to have a
special meeting that day. There will already be two Board Members on campus at 10 am on
Monday, so I’m hoping that at least one more Board Member is available to come in and make a
quorum for this important item.
If we don’t have this meeting on the 12th, then these individuals will have to wait to January 2024 to
get the better health coverage.
