BUTTE COUNTY GENERAL PLAN 2040
PUBLIC DRAFT ELEMENTS OPEN HOUSE WORKSHOPS
TO BE HELD ON SEPTEMBER 20th AND SEPTEMBER 21st
Butte County is currently undertaking an update of its General Plan. The General Plan 2040 update process will support the
County’s efforts to recover from both the Camp Fire and North Complex Fire and to become more resilient to the effects of
climate change, to address housing needs, community safety, and environmental justice issues. This important document
will guide development and conservation in the unincorporated area of Butte County for many years to come.
As part of the update process, two public Open House Workshops will be held to discuss the following Draft General Plan
Elements: Land Use, Environmental Justice (a new element), Circulation, Health and Safety, and Water Resources. The
Open House Workshops will focus on the Goals, Policies, and Action Programs of the Draft General Plan 2040 elements.
The public is strongly encouraged to attend either of the following two Open House Workshops:
1. Tuesday, September 20th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Southside Oroville Community Center, 2959 Lower Wyandotte Road, Oroville
2. Wednesday, September 21st from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Lakeside Pavilion, 2565 California Park Drive, Chico
Please join us to review the Draft General Plan, ask questions, and provide your input. The Open Houses are set up as
informal settings where all members of the public can drop in anytime during the event to talk one-on-one with staff from
the General Plan 2040 Update team.
The Draft Butte County General Plan 2040 Plan is available on the project webpage:
