Subject: Re: Title IX in Butte County
Hello Again,
I am following up on my previous email I sent a while back (see below for a refresher). I have only
received a response from Doug LaMalfa (congressman) which is very disappointing considering
every single person on the main part of this email is an ELECTED REPRESENTATIVE of mine.
I do not appreciate being ignored. While I am a very busy mom, I will not forget and will continue
to follow up.
I look forward to hearing back from you on your thoughts and discussions about moving forward.
Thank you & God Bless,

Hello,
I was enlightened the other day on the proposed Title ix change with the federal
government. For those who are unaware US Department of Education is what all of
our states are required to adhere to. With title ix, you may know of it as it was in the
news several years ago, it states:
"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from
participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any
education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance." Title IX and Sex
Discrimination (ed.gov)
The PROPOSED changes are to remove women's/girl's rights as we know it within
our great country. It would essentially give sweeping legal authority to CPS, schools
and so many more agencies than we can probably imagine at this moment.
"The Department therefore proposes that the current regulations should be amended
to provide greater clarity regarding the scope of sex discrimination, including
recipients' obligations not to discriminate based on sex stereotypes, sex
characteristics, pregnancy or related conditions, sexual orientation, and gender
identity. Further, the Department proposes that the current regulations could better
account for the variety of education programs or activities covered by Title IX, which
include recipients' education programs or activities serving students in elementary
schools, secondary schools, and postsecondary institutions." Regulations.gov
This is the basis for removing scholarships from young ladies, allowing men into
women's locker rooms with full access to change and see others change. This will
open up the door to CPS when a teacher is told from a child that their parent does
not agree with their perceived sexual identity. This will override state laws, our First
Amendment and our religious freedoms.
So why do I write to you, my local representatives? Because living in Paradise, I did
a quick search and found that our Paradise school district has already adopted this
proposal as law in their description of what Title ix is.
"Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination based on
sex in education programs and activities in federally funded schools at all levels. Title
IX protects students, employees, and applicants for admission and employment from
all forms of sex discrimination, including discrimination based on gender identity or
failure to conform to stereotypical notions of masculinity of femininity. In addition, all
students (and other persons) are protected by Title IX - regardless of their sex,
sexual orientation, gender, identify, part of full time status, disability, race, or national
origin - in all education programs and activities." Paradise Unified School District -
Title IX and Non-Discrimination (pusdk12.org)
This is highly ILLEGAL to be stating such incorrect information. This has me, as a
constituent of this county, mother and nurse, highly concerned for what is being
indoctrinated into our children. This is abuse from the top down to our children. This
must be changed immediately to reflect the current Title ix as stated above without
any additions immediately.
I am also formally requesting that this be brought to the agenda for the Paradise
school board, county board of supervisors and Town council. I realize these are all
very different and this is a federal statute. However, if our local school district is
illegally claiming something, then it needs to be addressed by all who oversee and
are locally involved.
In summary, there needs to be an investigation into the correct use of Title ix within
Butte County. I haven't even looked at the other districts yet, but I'm sure there will
be similar, incorrect/illegal terminology.
Please know that I am also sending this email to our state representatives.
I look forward to an open dialogue with everyone, especially the Superintendent Tom
Taylor about his statement on this above website for the school district.
